by Mindy is the innovation of Mindy Byrne.  The inspiration grew out of a busy mother’s desire for a productive and fun creative outlet!

The mission of Neck Gems is to provide unique, high quality custom gemstone jewelry at a reasonable price. 

Mindy grew up outside Philadelphia in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.  She went to college at the University of Richmond, and graduate school at Boston College.  She worked as a therapist for hospitalized adolescents before leaving the workforce in 2001 to raise her children.  Mindy lives in Glen Allen, Virginia with her husband, their three children, and Daisy, their Goldendoodle puppy. Mindy’s gemstone jewelry designs began as a hobby.  After her necklaces proved popular at home shows in Virginia, Mindy launched the Neckgems.com website in 2008. 

The highest quality materials are used for each piece – all natural gemstones and sterling silver.  The designs are simple and uncluttered, emphasizing the natural beauty of the gemstones set against the traditional classic style of sterling silver.  Each distinctive design is intended to reflect casual elegance and to compliment any outfit – by adding that special unique touch. 

Most Neck Gems designs are inspired by Mindy’s friends, family, and the special places in their lives. She personally handcrafts each of her pieces to meet her high standards.  The pieces are generally made in that stress reducing time of the evening when the kids are all tucked in bed. Typically, the best designing takes place at her work table with a Red Sox game on the television and a glass of wine by her side!
